I think that would be useful to conceptually divide this intro into two parts: in the first part we hold the hand almost still in a simplified chord (xx43x2) with the index on the 1st string, the middle finger on the 3rd and the ring finger on the 4th. In the 2nd part there's a quick change of notes to push while you pick the strings in twos.
